1 cup pineapple juice

Ice cubes

Clear plastic cups

Instructions:

Prepare gelatin according to package directions by mixing gelatin powder with boiling water.

Add cold water and mix well.

Ingredients

For the Fish

1½ pounds cod, haddock, tilapia, or other mild white fish, cut into strips

1 cup all-purpose flour

2 large eggs

2 tablespoons milk

2 cups panko breadcrumbs

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon paprika

½ teaspoon onion powder

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

Cooking spray or 2 tablespoons olive oil 

For the Ocean Rice

2 cups cooked white rice

2–3 drops blue food coloring

1 tablespoon butter

For the Seaweed Veggies

2 cups steamed broccoli

1 tablespoon butter

Salt and pepper to taste

Optional Garnishes

Lemon wedges

Goldfish crackers

Fresh parsley

Tartar sauce or ketchup

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Fish

Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and lightly coat it with cooking spray.

Pat the fish dry with paper towels.

Place the flour in one shallow bowl.

In a second bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk.

In a third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, garlic powder, paprika, onion powder, salt, and pepper.

Dip each fish strip into the flour, then the egg mixture, and finally coat it completely in the seasoned breadcrumbs.

Arrange the coated fish on the prepared baking sheet.

Lightly spray the tops with cooking spray (or drizzle lightly with olive oil).

Bake for 18–22 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and flaky.

Prepare rice according to package directions.

Stir in butter.

Toss with butter, salt, and pepper.

Step 4: Assemble the Plate

Spoon the blue rice onto each plate to create the "ocean."

Place fish sticks on top as "sharks swimming through the sea."

Shark Fin Mini Meatloaf Boats with Mashed Potato Waves

No seafood? No problem! These adorable individual meatloaves become "shark fins" swimming through creamy mashed potato waves. It's comfort food with a playful Shark Week twist that kids are sure to love.

Serves: 4–6

Prep Time: 20 minutes

Cook Time: 35–40 minutes

Ingredients

For the Mini Meatloaves

1½ pounds lean ground beef (or ground turkey)

1 cup Italian-style breadcrumbs

1 large egg

½ cup milk

¼ cup ketchup

1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

1 teaspoon Italian seasoning

½ teaspoon salt

¼ teaspoon black pepper

For the Glaze

¼ cup ketchup

1 tablespoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon yellow mustard

Mashed Potato Waves

2 pounds russet potatoes, peeled and cubed

4 tablespoons butter

½ cup milk

Salt and pepper to taste

For the Shark Fins

4–6 blue corn tortilla chips (or cut triangles from whole wheat tortillas and bake until crisp)

Optional Sides

Green beans

Corn

Carrot sticks

Directions

Step 1: Prepare the Potatoes

Place potatoes in a large pot and cover with cold water.

Bring to a boil and cook for 15–20 minutes, or until fork tender.

Drain the potatoes.

Mash with butter and milk until smooth.

Season with salt and pepper. Cover to keep warm.

Step 2: Make the Mini Meatloaves

Preheat oven to 375°F.

In a large bowl, combine:

Ground beef

Breadcrumbs

Egg

Milk

Ketchup

Worcestershire sauce

Garlic powder

Onion powder

Italian seasoning

Salt and pepper

Mix gently until just combined.

Divide into 4–6 equal portions and shape into oval mini meatloaves.

Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Step 3: Make the Glaze

Mix together ketchup, brown sugar, and mustard.

Brush generously over each meatloaf.

Step 4: Bake

Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the internal temperature reaches 160°F for beef or 165°F for turkey.

Step 5: Create the Ocean Scene

Spoon mashed potatoes onto each plate.

Use the back of a spoon to create wave-like ridges.

Place one mini meatloaf on top of the potatoes.

Carefully insert a blue tortilla chip into the top of each meatloaf to create a "shark fin."

Add green beans or broccoli around the plate to resemble seaweed.

Supplies:

Paper shark cutouts

Markers

Small prizes (optional)

Instructions:

Cut out several shark shapes from paper.

Write a shark fact, clue, or challenge on each shark.

Hide sharks around your home or yard.

Have children search for each shark.

Complete each challenge they discover.

Challenge Ideas:

Do 10 shark jumps.

Make your best shark impression.

Name three ocean animals.

Share one shark fact.

Shark Rescue Mission
Turn your backyard or living room into an ocean rescue adventure!
Supplies:
Small toy sharks or shark cutouts made from paper
Blue paper, blankets, or a blue sheet to create the “ocean”
Small containers or bowls
Optional: small prizes or stickers
Instructions:
Hide the toy sharks or paper sharks around the “ocean” area.
Tell kids they are marine rescuers searching for sharks that need help.
Give them a basket, bucket, or net to collect the rescued sharks.
Each time they find a shark, have them complete a fun challenge:
Name an ocean animal.
Share a shark fact.
Swim like a shark for 10 seconds.
Make their best shark impression.
Continue until all sharks have been rescued.
 
Feed the Shark Toss Game
A fun active game that gets kids moving while practicing hand-eye coordination.
Supplies:
Large cardboard box or laundry basket
Gray paint or paper to decorate as a shark
White paper for teeth
Bean bags, soft balls, or rolled-up socks
Marker
Instructions:
Decorate a box or basket to look like a shark with a big open mouth.
Cut out and attach paper teeth around the opening.
Place the shark “mouth” a few feet away from the players.
Have kids take turns tossing the “fish” (bean bags or balls) into the shark’s mouth.
Move the shark farther away to make the challenge harder.
Keep score or simply play for fun!
Variation Ideas:
Write numbers on the fish and have kids add up their points.
